Car thefts
THREE vehicles were stolen in the Redlands in the lead-up to the new year.
Cleveland police said the cars were taken from Victoria Point, Russell Island and the Weinam Creek marina overflow parking sometime on Sunday or Monday.
The owner of a Holden Commodore stolen from Point O’Halloran Road was notified by police about theft after the car was found burnt out at Coomera.
The keys had been stolen from inside the owner’s home, police said.
Police have not yet found the Holden Commodore stolen from Island Street, Russell Island or the Ford taken from Weinam Creek.
Office entered
POLICE are investigating a break-in at the office of the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation on East Coast Road, Dunwich.
Police said a window had been damaged and internal doors opened.
QYAC staff were going through an inventory to check if any property has been stolen.
The break-in happened sometime between 2pm on Saturday and 6.30am on Monday.
Christmas decoration thefts
Police patrolled Cleveland streets in the lead-up to Christmas after outdoor decorations were stolen from homes.
Cleveland police said three thefts were reported on one night during the festive season, prompting police to visit areas including Smith and Princess streets.
Police said no one had been charged with the thefts.
