VANDALS have ripped out statues, broken lights and smashed glass at Redlands District Special School.
Cleveland police said it appeared the school had been broken into twice in nine days.
Two steel statues had been ripped out of concrete on December 29.
The window of one building was smashed and classrooms entered.
No property was reported stolen but two external walkway lights were destroyed and playground equipment tipped over.
Police said the break-in was reported to them on Monday.
Another unlawful entry may have also been made overnight on Sunday.
Police said the school was told by security personnel that a glass panel on a door in another building had been removed.
Principal Andrew Thompson said vandalism wasted resources.
“Obviously any vandalism of a school is a nuisance and a waste of money in repairs,” he said.
“It is also an inconvenience at the best of times but more so when staff are away from the school during a vacation period.”
Education Queensland have been contacted for comment.
Police said they had been patrolling schools across the Redlands as part of school holiday enforcement activities.
School starts on Tuesday, January 29.
