AUSTRALIA’S largest travelling waterslide festival Slideapalooza will transform Sirromet Wines into the ultimate water wonderland this month.
More than 2000 metres of inflatable water slides, a hunger zone and beer garden are part of the Slideapalooza event, expected to attract more than 10,000 people.
It will be held from Friday to Sunday, and also from January 25 to 27.
The water slides consist of five 135-metre single lane slides, 16 lanes of slip and slides and two 50-metre freestanding sky high slides.
Tickets holders are offered a choice from two-hour slide sessions each day to ensure maximum flow across the event.
A separate Kids Zone will provide slippery fun for younger families.
Children aged four and under can slide for free with any adult ticket.
All attendees can enjoy unlimited all-day access to the festival area to cool off with a drink, food and light entertainment.
It is the second time the event – this time under new ownership – has been to Brisbane.
Slideapalooza general manager Michael Malcolm said Sirromet Wines was the perfect venue to stage the event.
“This is Australia’s largest waterslide festival, so we have hand-picked a venue with sloping hills to accommodate the sheer size of the slides and a location accessible to everyone from Brisbane to the Gold Coast and surrounds,” Mr Malcolm said.
“Waterslides are a favourite summer pastime for most Australians and Slideapalooza taps into this on a grand scale whether you are a family or group of mates looking to enjoy a fun day out in the sun.”
“We also have spectator pass for those who wish to catch all the action without getting wet, and there is plenty of shade on site as well as a licensed bar, drink huts and food vendors in the festival area.”
Toilets, change rooms and a cloakroom are offered to ticket-holders and on-site parking is $5 if booked online.
The event also features a cashless payment system for on-site purchases.
Tickets booked online are $47 for adults and $34 for children aged between five and 17. At the gate tickets cost $57 per adult and $44 per child.
