A MAN was airlifted from Straddie overnight with burns to his arms and chest after an incident involving hot oil.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the man had been cooking at a Point Lookout home about 9pm when emergency services were called.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital via rescue helicopter.
It was second burns-related incident in the Redlands overnight, with a chopper dispatched less than six hours earlier to help an injured man at Russell Island.
The man at Russell Island had suffered burns to his face and arms in an incident understood to have involved a fire pit.
Last week, another man was treated for burns after he was burnt in a gas explosion at Alexandra Hills.
Cleveland police said the man, age in his 40s, had been transferring gas from one bottle into another when the explosion was triggered.
