ONE of Queensland’s best-loved footy stars is coming to Victoria Point Shopping Centre.
Corey Oates from the Brisbane Broncos and the Queensland Maroons will appear at the centre as the special guest for the centre’s annual sports sign-on day on Saturday, February 2.
The shopping centre will host local sporting and extracurricular clubs and will provide a platform for parents and children sign up for 2019.
A Victoria Point shopping centre spokesperson said Oates would be conducting a meet and greet, answering questions, signing autographs and taking photos with fans from 11am.
In 2018, Oates racked up his 100th game and collected the Broncos' Best Back award for his work on the wing, as well as being voted XXXX Fan Player Of The Year.
Sportspeople who had appeared at previous sign-on days included former Bronco Sam Thaiday and Australian netball captain Laura Geitz.
The centre spokesperson said more than 12,000 people had visited the centre for the 2018 event.
The spokesperson added that each club taking part on the day would have the chance to promote their sport and demonstrate what their club had to offer the local community.
“This year is gearing up to be the biggest yet,” the spokesperson said.
