SIR Elton John will put on a second show at Mount Cotton in January in response to overwhelming demand during the A Day on the Green member pre-sale.
John earlier announced a performance at A Day on the Green at Sirromet Winery on January 18 and will now also put on a show the following day.
The performance is part of John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Promoter Michael Chugg said John would deliver his famed songbook to spellbound audiences.
“Elton’s continuing love affair with Australia knows no bounds, proven by this farewell tour, and the breadth and depth of the itinerary, showing his commitment to his many Australian fans,” Chugg said.
“On his very last tour, he wanted to return to some of his favourite cities, while also playing for fans in a couple of never-before-visited locations.”
The show includes songs like Bennie and the Jets, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Crocodile Rock and the Philadelphia Freedom.
Elton bids farewell to the road after almost 50 years on from his debut Australian Show, having played 196 concerts and performing to more than 1.5 million people across the country in that time.
Since his career began in 1969, he has performed more than 4000 shows in more than 80 countries.
Tickets for Elton’s A Day on the Green show start at $129.90 for general admission and go to $399.90 for A reserve.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, February 15.
