Prominent Filipino journalist Maria Ressa has posted bail and has been released from detention after being charged with cyber crime charges of cyber libel.
Ressa, chief editor of news website Rappler, was detained overnight at the headquarters of the National Bureau of Investigation following her arrest on Wednesday afternoon.
The 55-year-old journalist's arrest triggered global condemnation from human rights and press freedom groups.
