Bayside Kindergarten and Childcare is a not-for-profit centre with a rich history of offering care and play-based education for children in the greater Redlands area.
Centre staff are passionate about providing positive learning tools, spaces and experiences and cater to children aged six weeks to five years.
They work with families to enhance each child’s interest and help develop confidence, communication skills and a life long love of learning.
Located in Alexandra Hills since 1992, the centre is fortunate to have large outdoor play spaces connecting children with nature each day.
Natural outdoor spaces offer children an array of positive, hands on and authentic experiences with nature which encourages the development of creativity and problem solving.
Outdoor play spaces have hills, bike paths, trees, grass, vegetable gardens, climbing spaces, slides and swings.
Educators believe that being outdoors and connecting with nature helps children develop cognitive abilities, increases physical activity and improves social relations, self control and discipline.
Nature is important to children’s development in every major way - intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically, while giving children a more peaceful learning environment and helping to reduce stress.
Indoor play spaces are equipped with learning tools and resources to continue positive learning experiences such as books, blocks, drawing and collage equipment, dress up clothes and puzzles along with different areas where the only limitation is the children’s imaginations!
Staff love to display children’s artwork and learning observations so families can catch up on the goings on of their children’s development during their time with the centre and can continue learning at home.
Many of the educators are locals and several either have, or have had, their very own children in the centre for their early education.
The team is very passionate about their careers in early education and all hold or are working towards qualifications in early education and childcare.
The centre is very fortunate to have a qualified kindergarten teacher deliver an approved kindergarten program Monday to Friday.
As an Incorporated Association, Bayside Kindergarten and Childcare is lead by a volunteer management committee made up of parents and local community representatives as well as Tafe representatives.
Fees are inclusive of lunch being provided and all meals are prepared onsite by trained cooks.
