An inspired Western Sydney stunned fourth-placed Adelaide United with an impressive 3-1 A-League victory at Coopers Stadium.
The visitors absorbed plenty of pressure in both halves on Saturday night from the home side but were clinical going forward.
Roly Bonevacia was the Wanderers' best, setting up the opener, scoring the second and supplying the assist for the third.
Adelaide enjoyed decent spells of possession and territory but barely threatened.
Western Sydney made the perfect start, breaking the deadlock on 12 minutes with a neat header from Oriol Riera.
The Spaniard made a darting run to the near post and nestled Bonevacia's free kick into the bottom corner.
A minute later, the Reds were awarded a penalty after VAR intervention. Jordy Thomassen was clipped in the area by Brendan Hamill but play continued for more than a minute until the next dead ball when referee Daniel Elder had time to consult the replay. But Vedran Janjetovic saved Craig Goodwin's spot kick.
Adelaide wasted another opportunity to equalise just after the half-hour when Mirko Boland and George Blackwood ended up in each other's way when trying to connect with Isaias' free kick.
The Reds eventually drew level, close to halftime, when Ryan Kitto powered home a volley from just inside the area.
Western Sydney regained the lead in the 54th minute when Bonevacia's strike took a wicked deflection beyond despairing goalkeeper Paul Izzo.
The Wanderers sealed their fourth win of the season in the 71st minute when Bonevacia turned provider for Abraham Majok, who latched on to a lobbed pass and lifted the ball over the advancing Izzo.
Wanderers coach Markus Babbel singled out a few of the younger players in the squad who impressed him.
"I'm very proud because if you see how many young guys were playing today," he said.
"So it was a great win because it's not easy to win here."
Reds coach Marco Kurz said the Wanderers were deserved winners after United coughed up cheap goals.
"The result is correct because Western Sydney was the better team," he said.
"But I'm disappointed because, when I saw how we conceded the goals, it was too easy."
