Former union supremo Dave Hanna took his alleged rape victim home from a Brisbane bar because "he wanted to do the right thing by her", a court has heard.
The ex-CFMEU Queensland state president is accused of forcing himself on the woman at her Taigum unit in Brisbane's north early on March 4, 2017.
It is alleged he also took videos and photos of her genitals without her consent.
Hanna's Brisbane District Court trial heard the woman was "dazed and confused" outside the Eleven rooftop bar in Fortitude Valley after being asked to leave due to intoxication.
Venue security guard Jason Allison testified she and Hanna got into a taxi soon after, but did not leave because she had lost her purse which included her keys.
Hanna went back into the venue, while the woman lingered outside for "more than an hour" as she and Mr Allison worked out how she would get home.
"I just had one of the other security guards come down to see me and, look, just said, 'can you find the man she originally was leaving with and he can come down and talk to her?'" Mr Allison said on Tuesday.
"Eventually, this man comes down. They were discussing returning to her house. The gentleman offered to help her get into her home.
"They made the agreement he would assist her entering her home and they would have a drink together.
"To which she agreed."
Prosecutors believe Hanna kicked in her front door of her home, followed her inside and then proceeded to have sex with her.
Their taxi driver, Mark Braithwaite, also gave evidence, describing the woman as "very intoxicated".
When Hanna found out she lived in Taigum, he said it was in the "wrong direction" because he lived on the southside, according to Mr Braithwaite.
"He said he wanted to do the right thing by her," Mr Braithwaite said.
The jury also heard the woman sent text messages to a friend and ex-boyfriend saying "save me" and "please help me" on the night of the alleged rape.
Hanna's defence lawyers do not dispute that the pair had sex, but it will be for the jury to decide if she gave consent, or if she had the cognitive capacity to do so because of her level of intoxication.
Hanna has pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape and another charge of recording in breach of privacy.
The trial continues.
