It's a huge milestone for any business to celebrate 30 years and an even bigger feat for those years to be as successful as Timbara Garden Centre's.
Nursery director Carl Mentz took over the Thornlands business back in January 1989 and in that time, it has grown from strength to strength.
"Before we took over, the nursery originally was a small hobby nursery with one staff member," Carl said.
Now the expansive garden centre has 23 employees including working owners, full time and casual staff holding positions anywhere from labourers to horticulturists, and managers.
Carl and his friendly team owe their achievements to the tireless focus they have on quality and service.
"Our staff are highly experienced and most are qualified horticulturists who offer an honest, friendly service," he said.
The business prides itself on being family owned and operated with trusted and reliant values.
Over the years the business has built exceptional relationships with both customers and suppliers and has become an important resource to the local community.
Timbara Garden Centre has a production nursery that propagates and grows many of the plants that are sold.
This allows the centre to offer exceptional quality at the best prices.
"It is important to seek professional advice because it saves you money. Do it right the first time and you won’t have to make expensive changes later."

The garden centre supplies a comprehensive range of garden products including potting mixes and mulches, pots, water features, giftware and tools.
Carl said the current trends are indoor plants, edible gardens (vegetables, herbs and fruit trees) cacti and succulents and potted gardens, all which the centre has a large range of.
"We also offer a garden design service to suit all types and sizes of gardens, whether it be a patio or roof top garden right through to acreage garden designs" said Carl.
Timbara is heavily involved in the community through local charities and schools in the area and is always happy to help out with fund raising activities and events.
"We love our local community. Some of our customers have been coming here for 30 years - now their children and even grandchildren shop at Timbara."
Carl has been extremely grateful for the support of Redlands residents who have helped sustain the business over three decades.
"To all our valued customers thank you so much for making our last 30 years an absolute pleasure and we look forward to many more happy years."
