CANCER Council Queensland’s Redlands Volunteer Branch will paint Cleveland green this month when they host their annual Saint Patrick’s Day morning tea to support locals affected by cancer.
Branch President Tish Henderson encouraged locals to bring their best Irish joke and come along.
“We have a fun morning planned (with) live music, entertainment, Irish dancers, market stalls, fantastic food and a great atmosphere, all for an important cause,” Ms Henderson said.
“We hope to see as many people there as possible, to help us raise funds for Cancer Council Queensland’s vital work.”
Cancer Council Queensland is involved in work including cancer research, education and prevention programs and patient support services.
The Redlands Volunteer Branch have been awarded the title of Cancer Council Queensland’s Highest Fundraising Branch for two years running.
Cancer Council Queensland CEO Ms Chris McMillan thanked the Redlands Volunteer Branch for their dedication to raising funds and awareness.
“We commend all branch members for their devotion to our cause and encourage locals to attend this fantastic morning tea,” Ms McMillan said.
“All funds raised on the day helps fund our vital work in lifesaving cancer research, prevention and support services.”
Ms Henderson said guests would hope they had the luck of the Irish on the day, with raffle and lucky door prizes available.
The community are invited the attend the Irish-themed event, held Thursday, March 14 at Star of the Sea Hall on Passage Street, Cleveland from 9.30am to 11.30am.
Tickets are $20 per person and bookings are essential.
