MORE than 60 DHL employees and their families have joined Surf Life Saving Club members to plant 1500 trees at Wellington Point.
A DHL spokesperson said the event was part of DHL Express Australia's National Tree Planting Program, which was launched on the Gold Coast in November.
"The program aims to further the community work of Surf Life Saving Australia by improving the environment for the public, while also contributing to the group’s global target to plant one million trees every year and to offset all logistics-related emissions by the year 2050," the spokesperson said.
The trees were planted near Anson Road, Wellington Point, with planting facilitated and supervised by Redland City Council.
DHL - a major national partner of Surf Life Saving Australia since 2003 - will hold tree planting events in NSW, South Australia, Western Australia and on the Gold Coast in coming months.
The events are supported by Surf Life Saving clubs and held with councils and conservation groups.
