THE division one Hills Golf Club side is continuing a dream run of five successive wins in the Southeast Queensland District Golf Association Pennant competition.
In the team's most recent contest against Carbrook on Saturday, March 9, Hills dominated with a 6-0 match victory.
Division one captain Ian Peters said this came off the back of defeating Windaroo Lakes 4.5-1.5 on their home course.
"The win away against Windaroo is probably the highlight of the season to date, however we realise the challenge ahead will not get any easier as we finalise the home and away fixtures and prepare for the finals format," he said.
The division one team will travel to Gainsborough Greens Golf Club next week ahead of the final series the following week.
Division two
THE Division two side is expected to narrowly miss out on a spot in the finals despite stellar form in the past two weeks.
Hills claimed back to back wins against Kooralbyn Valley and Windaroo Lakes in home games over the past fortnight.
Division two captain Gavin Skeet said the results had been encouraging.
"I am very proud of the team's results this season, however it appears we may have come up just short of progressing our season into the finals format," he said.
"We will continue to represent our club passionately for the remainder of the season when we face Carbrook Golf Club in an away fixture next weekend."
Division three
SUCCESSIVE losses to Mount Warren Park and the Bay Islands Golf Club have culminated in a tough two weeks for the division three Hills Golf Club side.
Division three captain John Biddlecombe said he was proud of the team's camaraderie but the results had not met expectations.
"We are certainly disappointed by the results we have produced this season, but we will build on this and work towards finishing the season strongly," he said.
Division three will face Redland Bay Golf Club in a home game for the last match of the season.
