THE Office of Fair Trading has warned of people selling projectors, screens and electronic equipment from the back of an unmarked white van in the Cleveland area.
A spokesperson said that goods sold out of the back of a vehicle were usually overpriced, damaged or did not live up to what is promised.
"Buyers have no way to get a refund or exchange if the item is faulty, as car boot traders usually vanish after the sale," the spokesperson said.
The Office of Fair Trading called for anyone who had seen the traders to contact them on 13 QGOV (137 468) so that the sellers movements could be tracked and other consumers could be warned.
