A STORM slammed into south-east Queensland last night, delivering a significant amount of rain to the thirsty region.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Michael Gray said the storm was picked up near the border ranges about 5pm and hit the Scenic Rim by about 7pm, reaching Beaudesert by 7.30pm, Logan an hour later and the Redlands about 8.20pm.
Nindooinbah Dam received about 62mm of rain, Logan reported 25-50mm and the Redlands got 10-17mm, he said.
In Beaudesert there were reports of flash flooding affecting some parts of town with 23mm falling in about 30 minutes.
Kalbar received a hefty 43mm with about 15mm falling on Canungra and Boonah.
Mr Gray said there would be more to come as the weekend approached.
"There is a good chance of severe thunderstorms today and tomorrow across these areas," he said.
"We can never rule out the chance of damaging winds and large hail but for now it looks like the main risk is heavy rainfall."
Mr Gray advised residents of the region to keep an eye on weather warnings over coming days.
