THREE local cricketers have been named among the top in the state and will compete in Queensland Cricket's U16 Male State Challenge.
The challenge features four teams, three of which contain Redlands players.
Batsman Dylan Kritzinger will captain the Embers under the mentorship of coach Charlie Burke.
Jack Sinfield will also play a leading role in the challenge, captaining the Flash, while Stephan Muller will play for the Sparks.
The challenge, which is part of Queensland Cricket's talent pathway, will be competed from April 7 to 10 in parallel with the U17 Female State Challenge.
It aims to showcase players' skills against other elite state players.
Matches will be played at Maroochydore Cricket Club.
The challenge will also provide an opportunity for players to showcase their skills in front of Queensland Cricket's State Selection Panel, Talent Officers and U17 Coaching Staff.
Following the Challenge, the Queensland Cricket Youth Coaches will select an extended Queensland Under-17 squad that will train during the winter in preparation for the U17 National Championships in September 2019.
The squad will be named in June 2019.
