Dr Alireza Najafabadi has only just started practicing at Thornlands surgery, but already he is drawn to the beautiful bayside area.
Originally from Iran, Dr Najafabadi and his wife first moved to Australia in 2014, settling in Brisbane.
And the Redlands has not failed to impress with what he describes as an area with good scenic beauty and lots of locally owned cafes and eateries.
"The houses are big and beautiful too. I have started seeing patients and find each one of them to be very friendly and welcoming," Dr Najafabadi said. "Though very quick to comment, I think I am loving to be here in this community."
Dr Najafabadi graduated from Iran in 2000 and has been working as a GP for almost 20 years. He has been practicing in Brisbane since 2015.
His specialties include skin disease including skin cancers, men's health, chronic disease management, paediatrics, travel health and vaccination.
"The [Thornlands Surgery] practice team is very friendly and supportive. I am in my initial days but it doesn't seem so."
Dr Najafabadi said the reception team was friendly and the nursing team very capable and supportive, as is the practice manager.
"The work environment is very conducive and patient oriented," he said. "I am feeling very comfortable to be here and confident that my patients will be well taken care of."
