Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash Sunday afternoon about 30km east of Camooweal near the Northern Territory border
About 4pm two women and a teenage boy were travelling on the Barkly Highway when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned.
A passenger, a 24-year-old woman from Underwood, Logan, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The second passenger, a 17-year-old boy from Ormeau, sustained non life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 29-year-old woman from Mount Cotton, was airlifted to Mount Isa Hospital in a stable condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
The Mount Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew a seriously injured woman to hospital, after a single vehicle rollover on the Barkly Highway Sunday afternoon.
The rescue chopper was called to the crash just before 4pm.
Two critical care flight paramedics travelled to the scene.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics initially treated the patient, aged in her twenties, before the aeromedical crew arrived.
She was flown to Mount Isa hospital with serious head and chest injuries.
One male patient, who was also involved in the rollover, was taken to Mount Isa Hospital by a QAS road crew.

Emergency services are reporting the Barkly Highway is closed near Camooweal due to a traffic accident.
Queensland Police issued a notification around 4.45pm that the Barkly Highway was closed 30km out of Camooweal heading towards Mount Isa following a single vehicle traffic crash.
"Police and emergency services are attending with delays likely," Queensland police said on Twitter.
Police are urging people to delay travel between Camooweal and Mount Isa while emergency services are at the scene.
There is no information as yet about the crash victim or victims and whether they suffered any injuries.
