This April the Old SchoolHouse Gallery, Cleveland with artists Hilary Wakeling, Kate Bray and Malissa Johnson takes visitors back to when the old curiosity shops, filled with wondrous and exotic objects were a source of entertainment for the whole family.
Although Hilary is primarily an acrylic and watercolour painter, she enjoys experimenting with cut paper, mixed media sculpting and working with handmade books.
The theme "Curios" has allowed Hilary to be more playful than usual, with some surprising results.
Kate enjoys the experimentation and play in art making often using unconventional media to make pieces.
Kate looked to what she could create from what was around her studio and as anyone who has seen Kates' studio knows, there are literally hundreds of ideas just lying around.
Malissa uses multiple media in her jewellery. For this exhibition Malissa has been inspired by curiosity in the natural world and how things are made.
By using her familiar media in curious ways and combining this with her other creative pursuits Malissa will showcase a body of surprising creations along with her eye-catching jewellery.
Curios Exhibition begins Friday April 5 and continues throughout April.

The Natural Chemistry exhibition of small expressive oils by Katia Strounina continues to Sunday March 31.
