THREE recruits are set to begin their careers with Queensland Police Service in the Redlands.
The first-year constables will be deployed to Cleveland, Capalaba and Redland Bay stations.
The officers were inducted into the service last month as part of a 76-strong cohort destined to serve across Queensland.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the recruits had completed 25 weeks of intensive training to prepare them for their roles.
Almost 20 recruits will be based at Brisbane, 17 in the south-eastern policing district and 14 in the south.
About 25 officers will be split between the central and northern regions.
Queensland Police Commissioner Ian Stewart told recruits that a career in policing was like no other.
"There is no doubt each of these new officers will experience some challenging situations, however there will also be many rewarding and humbling times," he said.
"I wish luck to every officer in their career and feel confident they will uphold the values expected of a police officer in Queensland."
Redlands MP Kim Richards said she welcomed the three recruits to the Redlands.
"There is no doubt each of these new officers will experience some challenging situations, however there will also be many rewarding times," she said.
"We wish the very best to every officer in their career and feel confident they will uphold the values expected of a police officer in Queensland."
Capalaba MP Don Brown also offered his congratulations.
"We know how important the role of police officer is in our communities, it's like no other - responsible for the safety and security of Redlanders," he said.
It is not yet known when two officers will join police at Russell Island.
The two extra island police were announced during a visit by Annastacia Palaszczuk to the Redlands in November last year.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said earlier this year that the recruitment process would begin in the "near future".
"Accommodation has been purchased and is now in the process of being furnished in preparation of the new appointees," the spokesperson said.
