Two bands from Redland City Bands will compete at the Yamaha national band championships over the Easter weekend.
Redland City Bands' concert band under conductor Peter Francis will compete in the B-grade section against seven other bands. The wind ensemble under conductor Louise McGill will compete in the C-grade section against four other bands. Both bands will compete on April 20 at the Brisbane City hall with the concert band in the main auditorium between 11am and 6.15pm and the wind ensemble in the Ithaca auditorium between 5.30pm and 9.45pm.
Each band has four challenging pieces to play, a set test piece, a hymn, a march and an own choice piece, all of which have been well rehearsed with extra rehearsal time in recent weeks. Ages of competing musician's range between 12 and 80 years with varied experience.

Redland City Bands will also take part at the Redland Bay dawn service, Banana Street on Anzac Day and and later march in Cleveland's main parade from 10.20am along Shore Street, Cleveland. Seek more information on redlandcitybands@gmail.com
