THOMPSON'S Beach at Victoria Point was re-opened on Friday after being temporarily closed when routine monitoring showed high levels of enterococci bacteria.
Redland City Council declared the beach unsafe for swimming on Friday, April 5.
The beach was also closed due to high levels of the bacteria in March.
A council spokesperson said the beach was again suitable for swimming and other recreational water activities, in accordance with Healthy Waterways Healthy Waterplay guidelines.
Recent sampling had confirmed that the bacteria, which was often found in waterways and could cause mild illnesses such as stomach upsets and infections, was no longer at high levels.
The beach will continue to be monitored though routine sampling as part of council's recreational water quality monitoring program.
