THE last remaining memorial shield from the Ormiston Scout Hall has been upgraded by Cleveland Men's Shed members.
Other shields belonging to Cleveland Scout Group were destroyed in a fire that gutted the Scout Hall in Ormiston in March 2018.
One first aid shield was being held at another Scout Den at the time so was safe from the flames.
District Scout commissioner Paul Tuckwood approached the Men's Shed to modify the shield to accommodate a district name change from Moreton Bay to Redland and allow for more award recipients to be added.
Cleveland Uniting Church Men's Shed vice president Clive Shepherd said members attached a larger shield to the back of the original so the new name could be added while still acknowledging the group's history.
"It's all red cedar on the back (which) we shaped, carved and French polished," Mr Shepherd said.
"The Scouts were over the moon (when we presented the shield)."
He said many Men's Shed members had been Scouts in the past, some in the Redlands.
"We wanted to do what we could for them," he said.
Mr Tuckwood said the shield was an important relic of Scout history.
"The Redlands Scout District extends its gratitude to the Cleveland Uniting Church Men's Shed for their time and expertise renewing this important shield," he said.
