AN Anzac Day dawn service with a reenactment was Coochiemudlo Island at the Main Beach memorial.
The service was followed by a sausage sizzle and gunfire breakfast at Red Rock Cafe.
Redlands teacher Sheena Hewlett, who represented Redland City Council deputy mayor Lance Hewlett at the service, placed a wreath made by her students for the service.
"The children all painted red handprints to symbolise the red poppies in Flanders Field and the soldiers who lost their lives protecting us to create a wreath," Mrs Hewlett said.
"The children also baked Anzac cookies, read the story Anzac Ted and talked about the importance of thanking and remembering others who have contributed to our Australian way of life."
