CAKE decorating enthusiasts are vying to be the best on the Redlands Coast at this weekend's Sweet As Dessert Festival at Cleveland.
The Best Cake Decorator Competition is one of the contests to take place at the two day event. Others include ice-cream and watermelon eating competitions.
The festival offers all things sweet - like brownies, chocolate, cupcakes, doughnuts, meringues and waffles - plus savoury options, for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
There will be live music, pop-up bars, dessert cocktails, activities for kids, entertainment and cooking demonstrations.
A spokesperson for festival organiser World Food Markets said for the cake decorating competition enthusiasts had to post photos of their best decorated homemade cakes on social media.
"The top 15 best decorated cakes will be decided on the basis of creativity and social media engagement and will be announced on the Sweet As Dessert Festival page," the spokesperson said.
"These top 15 decorators will be invited to present a cake at the Sweet As Dessert Festival to win the title of Redlands Coast Best Cake Decorator and a $500 cash prize."
Cake decorators who agree to present a cake will get a two-day pass to the festival, with food, drink and fun zone vouchers worth more than $100.
The top 15 cake decorators will be announced at 3pm on Tuesday, May 7.
The winner will be decided by festival attendees' votes and points awarded by five expert judges.
