185 Main Road, Wellington Point will turn into Kreisler's salon with the music of Fritz Kreisler presented at the next Classical Point of View home concert at 3pm on May 26.
Redland violinist Camille Barry will present his work, accompanied by cellist Danielle Bentley, Leanne Swanson and soprano Rosemarie Arthars of Wellington Point.
Ms Swanson said that as a violinist himself, Fritz Kreisler (1875-1962) became tired of playing the same pieces in the concert repertoire and so created his own ravishing melodies, rich with the flavour of his own Vienna.
"He also transcribed and arranged the works of famous composers, giving them his own touch. He issued a series of pieces with baroque flavour which he blithely attributed to lesser-known 18th century composers," Ms Swanson said.
"For decades he duped audiences and critics alike until 1935 when he confessed the works were all of his own composition."
Tickets are $40 and include wine and nibbles. Book on 0418 456 829.
