Old School House Gallery artists Natasha Gibson Scott, Junita Grosvenor and Cliff Eames of Yurara Art Gallery and Impress Printmakers, have taken personal journeys to explore their experience of #Timber&Tin. The exhibition comprises images of quintessential Australian architecture and heritage that forms our identity. Eames began his exploration, drawing the timber and tin of the old houses and farm sheds in the Redland landscape. Incorporating these concepts and considering graffiti images, he produces semi-abstracts, landscapes and nudes. Gibson Scott utilises childhood memories learning about Australia in South Africa and experiences of emigrating to Australia. She celebrates unique architectural forms developed as response to materials available, climate and insects. Grosvenor sought to preserve "disappearing Redlands" in her art and photography, capturing places and spaces being lost to developments. #Timber&Tin opens on Saturday June 8 from 5:30pm. Free entry.
