AFTER 20 years at a prominent site at Cleveland, Oldmac Mazda will relocate to a new facility at Capalaba.

In July, the dealership will move from Shore Street West to 184-186Redland Bay Road, a site nearly triple the size.

A 48-week build is on track for completion in June, after which the building will be fitted out and made ready for customers.

Oldmac Group owner Graham Oldham said the Capalaba site covered 10,200 square metres, compared to a 4000 square metre space at Cleveland, and had nearly 5000 square metres of indoor floor space.

"We purchased the land some time ago," Mr Oldham said.

"A lot of the time in the motoring industry we build, then in another two or three years we find we need somewhere bigger or we need an expansion.

"This way we've built it comfortably knowing we'll grow into it."

The $10 million facility includes a 20 car service operation and a 10 car undercover awning.

Inside, a large waiting area and a kitchen serving breakfast, lunch and snacks to customers would be some of the new features.

The dealership will be trading under the new name of Redlands Mazda.

"It's the same Oldmac Mazda team going into the new structure," Mr Oldham said.

"We've put a lot of time into planning for it and it's all planned around customer satisfaction."

The relocation means seven of Australia's top 10 selling car brands now have dealerships on Redland Bay Road.

The remaining three top brands have dealerships in Cleveland.

Mr Oldham said the Capalaba site would open Oldmac Mazda up to more customers travelling along the main road en route to destinations like Victoria Point and Redland Bay.

"(The road) is a lot busier than when we are now, so it will give us more exposure to passing traffic," he said.

"We just want to keep our customers happy and keep growing."

All Oldmac Mazda's operations will relocate to the new premises at 184-186 Redland Bay Road on July 1.

Oldmac Toyota will remain at its current site in Cleveland.

Mr Oldham said it was unclear what would happen to the Cleveland Mazda site.
