SMOKE may be seen in the Mount Cotton, Sheldon, Shailer Park and Priestdale areas on Wednesday due to a planned burn.
The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will conduct the burn in Venman Bushland National Park near West Mount Cotton Road on Wednesday, weather permitting.
A QPWS spokesperson said the burn was part of the service's hazard reduction and conservation management program for parks and forests.
"The aim of this burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas," the spokesperson said.
"This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration."
The spokesperson warned that smoke could decrease visibility on the roads so it was important for motorists to drive safely to the conditions.
