FOUR Redlands softballers selected to represent Queensland will be fighting for a national championship win on home turf in July.
The players, along with other state team members, will compete at the upcoming Australian U23 National Championships, which will be held at Redland Softball Association from July 7 to 13.
Isaac Caloiero-Smith and Keenan Smith will compete for the Laing Harrow Shield in the men's team, hoping to defend Queensland's national title.
Rebecca McEachern and Dorinda Stone were selected in the women's team and will play for the Joyce Lester Shield.
Players were selected in state squads at the end of 2018 and began training at the beginning of the year, with the nationals teams selected from among the state players.
The championships will be held in conjunction with the 2019 International Friendship Series.
The series is an annual event that gives young players experience in a high-performance environment, with teams travelling from countries including the United States, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand to compete.
This is the third consecutive year the series will be held at Redland Softball Association.
