A woman has been rescued from her flooded car in Melbourne and a police station forced to close amid wild weather lashing Victoria.
It came as emergency crews received 180 calls for help in the 24 hours to Monday night, mostly for building damage, fallen trees and flooding.
More than 18mm has fallen in the CBD since Sunday and 47mm at Altona Meadows, in southwest Melbourne.
A woman had to be rescued from an railway underpass in that suburb on Monday after floodwaters reached her car windows.
Elsewhere, the Mornington Police Station was forced to close its doors because of flooding, with a sign on the door referring people to nearby stations.
The wettest place in the state was Trentham Reservoir, west of Mount Macedon, which received more than 67mm.
Wild winds have also caused havoc, with a strong gust causing a crane to collapse at Dandenong South.
Gusts of up to 120km/h were expected into Tuesday over the state's alpine area, the Bureau of Meteorology said.
Early on Monday, winds reached 56km/h at Tullamarine and 78km/h at Avalon Airport.
Roads Minister Jaala Pulford has urged drivers to take care in the weather.
"Winter has well and truly arrived, it is wet and freezing cold and this is an important opportunity to remind people of the importance of driving to your skill level and conditions," she said.
