SIX Redlands riders have finished as finalists at the 2019 BMXA BAD BOY National Championships in Victoria.
Redlands BMX Club sent a team of 14 riders to the championship in Shepparton, which was held from May 20 to 25.
More than 1500 riders took to the track at the country's premier BMX event, travelling from every state and territory, looking for a national title or a coveted 'A' plate that is awarded to a finalist in each age category.
Competitors were aged from four to 67 years old.
Leading the way for the Redlands club was Molly Williamson, who was third in the 9 years girls' 20 inch event and seventh in the 8 to 10 years cruiser final.
Joining Williamson as a dual finalist was Steven Grace, who won fourth in the 35 to 39 years men's cruiser and fifth in the 35 to 39 years 20 inch.
Mitchell Torrens dodged a crash on the track to win fifth place in the 17 to 24 years men's 20 inch, while Bart Steffen was sixth in the 14 years boys' race.
Clubmates Penni Allen and Harper Robins scored fourth and sixth respectively in the 8 years girls' 20 inch.
The competition came after weeks of hard work by Robins and Allen, who helped to bake and decorate cupcakes sold at Bay View State School on election day to raise money for transportation.
Williamson, Allen and Robins will now prepare to head to the BMX World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium this July.
