A VICTORIA Point fishing business has been named the best school holiday activity for kids.
2 Bent Rods - which runs fishing activities including classes, parties and excursions - has won Best Kids School Holiday Activity in the 2019 What's On 4 Kids Awards.
The national industry awards showcase the achievements of many small businesses dedicated to giving children a strong foundation in activities such as sport, music and arts.
Community votes and a judging process determine those best businesses based on merit and community support.
Owner Samantha Beckmann said it was an honour to have won the award.
"We were up against some fantastic businesses from all over Australia including Australia Zoo and National Rugby League Holiday Clinic," Ms Beckmann said.
"Being nominated by our students' parents and then winning the award gives us a great sense of achievement, knowing the parents and others in the community believe in what we do as much as we do."

2 Bent Rods has been operating for 15 years introducing children to the environment through fishing.
Its first class was held at Thompsons Beach at Victoria Point.
At shore-based classes across the south-east, children pump yabbies, casting bait nets and learning about all things fishing.
What's On 4 Kids Awards founder Elise Easdown said the demand for children's activities was continuing to grow.
"We feel very privileged to not only work with this industry but to also celebrate them with the What's On 4 Kids Awards," Ms Easdown said.
"Winning awards gives the industry recognition, increases team morale and workplace culture and leads to more family interest."
In it's eighth year, the 2019 What's On 4 Kids Awards recognised businesses in 27 categories including best kids party entertainer and best educational online activity.
Winners were announced at a gala dinner at Sheraton Grand Mirage on the Gold Coast on Saturday, June 1.
