- Ian Chester-Master
The Redland Business and Retail (BaR) Awards 2019 committee recently hosted a sponsors and supporters breakfast at the Sheldon Event Centre to mark the commencement of this year's voting and nominating season.
Sponsors, supporters and guests gathered to celebrate the awards launch which this year celebrates our Indigenous heritage in collaboration with the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC).
Chairman Ian Chester-Master thanked all the sponsors for their ongoing support of the awards.
"This year's theme of the awards is Community, Connection and Collaboration."
"We believe this theme encompasses the common goal held by Redland City Chamber of Commerce and QYAC to make Redlands the best place in Queensland to do business and recognises the importance of encouraging our local businesses to strive towards excellence and to take time out to celebrate their successes," Mr Chester-Master said.
The committee's goal this year is to grow the awards and continue to strengthen ties between businesses on the mainland and the islands.
Mr Chester-Master said the underpinning philosophy of the awards was to keep spending within Redland Coast, to strengthen local business by promoting local shopping and create and maintain jobs within the region, promoting excellence in customer service.
Customers who vote for their favourite retail businesses this year not only support their preferred retailer, but also go into the draw to win a three-night comedy cruise from Travel Associates, Cleveland.
Voting forms are available from participating shopping centres and retailers and the Redland City Bulletin office. Customers can also complete the voting form published in the Redland City Bulletin or online at www.redlandbarawards.com.
