THE Office of Fair Trading has warned of people selling home entertainment systems from a white van in the Redland Bay area.
An OFT spokesperson said goods sold out of the back of a vehicle are usually overpriced, damaged or do not live up to what is promised.
"Buyers have no way to get a refund or exchange if the item is faulty, as car boot traders usually vanish after the sale," the spokesperson said.
OFT made similar warnings in March, saying reports had been received of people the systems from a van at Victoria Point and Cleveland, just a day apart.
Anyone who sees the traders is asked to contact the Office of Fair Trading on 13 QGOV (13 74 68) so the OFT can track their movements and warn other consumers.
