THE Redlands Hearing-Impaired Support Group is helping people affected by hearing loss, with support from Cleveland hearing clinic A Better Ear.
The group offers a social network, provides information about services and products and advocates for the hearing-impaired.
The group is run by RDCOTA's Paul Barnes, who said hearing loss was an invisible disability.
"People cannot see that you have a disability so you are not considered to have one," he said. "This can lead to the sufferer experiencing increased stress and social isolation."
A Better Ears founder and principal audiologist Penelope Woods shares information at the group meetings about developments in treating hearing loss.
Ms Woods said it was important to treat hearing loss early. She wanted to help hearing loss sufferers avoid unscrupulous practices in the hearing industry.
The support group meets at 10am on the second Saturday of each month at the Donald Simpson Centre.
The group is open to any age group and all kinds of hearing loss.
Technology is available to help attendees get involved in the conversation.
