Bream continue to dominate all waters, although it is hard to get away from the small fish.
At Jumpinpin the better catches during the day have come from Kalinga Bank and the eastern point of Short Island on the run-in tide and the shallows around Green and Gold banks in Tiger Mullet Channel at night.
The Broadwater has also turned up good numbers in and around the seaway as the tide slows for the turn and around the base of the main channel beacons between Wave Break Island and the Sundale Bridge on the run in tide.
Despite a hot bite last month, tailor have been a little hard to find this week. Best results have been from northern NSW beaches and Noosa to Fraser Island, there has been very few caught on local beaches or in estuary waters, hopefully that will change this weekend in the lead up to the full moon.
There has been plenty of mulloway caught over the past few weeks and top spots include the Logan River at Marks Rocks, Crusoe Island to the Pin Bar and in the Southport Seaway around the end of the north wall.
The Brisbane River is fishing well with plenty of bream around Luggage Point and the Sunken Wall and good numbers of mulloway around the mouth of creeks and the base of shipping beacons.
Land based anglers are getting a feed of bream around the Fisherman's Island Bridge.
There has also been snapper caught around the cranes and reclamation pond walls towards the mouth of the river. There has also been some big snapper in the bay.
The big fish have fallen to diver whiting frames drifted down on to wrecks, artificial reefs and ledges. Hot spots over the past few weeks have been the Ammo Barge, Bulwer and Harry's but any structure in 10m or more of water will be well worth targeting.
On the offshore scene charter operators are reporting good numbers of snapper up to a few kilos on most reefs. In the shallows there has been mulloway to 10 kilos and a few of cobia on the bait grounds and shallow wrecks for those using live bait.
