For the second year, Redland Performing Arts Centre will screen a variety of films with ties to Australia. This year's theme focuses on movies that were filmed in and around the local area.
The first weekend of films on June 29 will feature two movies with scenes filmed on Redlands Coast - with screenings of The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader PG (screened at 10am non captioned and noon captioned) and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (screened at 2pm non-captioned and 4.30pm captioned).
In The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader , Lucy and Edmund return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way, they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk and a band of lost warriors, before reaching the edge of the world.
In Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Captain Jack Sparrow finds himself in trouble when deadly ghost sailors, led by the undead Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea. His only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon.
There will be free Narnia and pirate-inspired activities and face painting between the movies from 11am to 2pm. There will also be a chance to take a sneak peek at some of the locations used for the productions before the film starts, then try to spot them again during the movie.
Tickets are $8 for a single film, or $14 for two films on the same day (not available online). Bookings can be made on 3829 8131 or rpac.com.au (booking fees are $4.30 by phone and $5 online per transaction).
