CHEEKY online betting company Sportsbet is taking odds on what rugby union star Israel Folau's next job might be.
Folau is asking for donations to take his employer Rugby Australia to court after he was sacked for saying that sinners like homosexuals, drunks and adulterers would go to hell.
This prompted Folau to push for donations through an online GoFundMe page which was shut down, with the organisation saying his plan breached its terms and conditions.
In turn this prompted the Australian Christian Lobby to start fundraising, with $500,000 pledged to help the multi-millionaire mount a legal campaign against his employer.
GoFundMe Australia regional manager Nicola Britton said while her organisation welcomed diverse debate, it would not tolerate the promotion of discrimination or exclusion.
Sportsbet is taking bets on what might be his next job.
Surprisingly, Christian Pastor is the second favourite at $3.50. Getting top billing is Folau to continue his rugby career with any top 14 French club, at $2.50.
Sportsbet spokesman Rich Hummerston said the controversial Folau was $12 to make the switch to rugby league and play for any NRL side.
Media reports have suggested Folau has a property portfolio worth about $7 million.
"Sportsbet has him at $10 to become a real estate agent and $51 to switch to basketball and play in the NBL," Hummerston said.
"Despite his pleas for donations, Folau is a multi-millionaire and could happily retire now.
"But we're tipping he'll be on the look-out for a new job and doubt it'll be for a charity."
