POLICE have appealed for information about a vehicle that was set alight at Thornlands on Tuesday night.

The Subaru Liberty had been abandoned on King Street, near Baythorn Drive, on Saturday.

It had not been reported stolen.

Firefighters found the car well alight after being called about 11.20pm.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the crew had extinguished the fire and left the vehicle in the hands of police.

A police spokeswoman said that two youths had been reported running away from the car.
