ABOUT 3000 properties were impacted by a water outage in the Redlands, according to Redland City Council.
A council spokesperson said there had been a fault in a pressure-reducing valve at Giles Road, Redland Bay.
"Council crews ... immediately established bypass measures," the spokesperson said.
"Properties began receiving water back soon after. Council has engaged its contractor to repair the fault, and the system should be returned to normal later today."

THE water fault at Redland Bay, Victoria Point and on Coochiemudlo Island should be rectified within 30 minutes, according to deputy mayor Lance Hewlett.
Cr Hewlett said Redland Water staff advised that the fault had been identified and a by-pass solution put in place.
"Customers should receive full water service within the next 30 minutes," he said.
"The cause of the fault will be rectified today by Redland Water crews and contractors."
EARLIER
WATER outages are being experienced on Coochiemudlo Island, at Victoria Point and parts of Redland Bay.
According to a Redland City Council spokesperson, the issue was being rectified.
