CLEVELAND'S Bay Play children's centre has back-flipped on a decision to close.
The kids play centre's management said last week that they would close this month. More than 750 people commented on social media, many people expressing dismay at the announcement.
The owners said on Wednesday that they would "band together to formulate a strategy to reopen Bay Play" following the outpouring of support.
"We realise Bay Play is not only important to 14 people who work in here but also so important to (the) Redlands community," the owners said.
They were grateful that the centre was part of childhood memories and were determined not to lose the joyful play centre.
The owners said they had been unable to generate sufficient business profits.
"Running a play centre requires a big commitment and investment," the owners said.
"We heard you so our staff are working hard on an upgrading project on our play centre. Please stay tuned for our reopening day."
