Imprint showcases a selection of works by Queensland-based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male artists held in the Redland Art Gallery Collection.
With a focus on print mediums, this exhibition highlights recent acquisitions and provides an opportunity for visitors to see these works on display for the first time.
Imprint is on display at Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland until Tuesday August 27.
A free floor talk and light lunch to celebrate the opening will be held at 12.30pm Thursday July 25. This is a free event and all are welcome.
Seeing Country
Featuring Paul Bong, Elisa Jane Carmichael, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins, Belinda Close, Penny Evans, Carol McGregor, Kim Williams and Philomena Yeatman, Seeing Country celebrates Aboriginal ecological understandings by highlighting resilient relationships with the lands and waters.
This exhibition brings together artistic practices and experiences from saltwater, freshwater and rainforest Country to share insights of place across time.
Through diverse mediums and techniques artists express innovation, ancestral knowledge and the importance of the natural world.
Collectively, Seeing Country translates ways of seeing that are central to culture and caring for Country.
Curated by Freja Carmichael, Seeing Country includes works from the RAG Collection and loaned works and is on show until September 1.
