A compassion for hearing impaired Australians has been the driving force behind new and innovating ways to combat hearing loss in our community, including the cochlear implant.
Australian Audiology Hearing Specialists managing director/senior clinical specialist Partho Pal recently partnered with Advanced Bionics to provide cochlear implant services at his Victoria Point clinic. It is the first clinic of the group to pilot this project.
"Within our Victoria Point clinic we will investigate and diagnose all hearing impaired clients that would meet the necessary criteria and guidelines for the suitability of cochlear implants," he said.
Partho's team has partnered with leading ENT specialist Dr Andrew Chang who performs cochlear implant surgery and accurate placement of electrobes within the cochlear.
Furthermore, Australian Audiology has enlisted a psychiatric specialist to conduct pre-operative mental health investigations and has an audiologist who has successfully completed advanced training in cochlear implant programming techniques.
"The cochlear implants provided by Advanced Bionics are small and can be paired with a hearing aid to get the best possible bin-aural hearing," Partho said.
Partho himself has gained training in Advanced Bionics technology in preparation for this new opportunity and is looking forward to being able to offer Redlands residents the chance to receive a high level of care.
Australian Audiology aims to achieve excellence in hearing health care solutions and provide the most advanced technologies available offering a vast collection of hearing aids.
"We also pride ourselves on the excellent customer service our staff provide," said Partho. "We are always available to help with our clients hearing needs as well as being able to offer our low competitive prices for products and services."
