The Redland Bombers for the second week in a row were unable to capitalise on a great start, going down to cross-town rivals Aspley by 45 points.
After trailing by 12 points at quarter time, the Hornets clicked into gear, kicking seven goals to one in the second quarter which ultimately set up their 22.9 (149) to 15.6 (96) victory.
Scott Miller who brought up his 100th NEAFL game on Saturday afternoon at Scottsdale Park, saying the game pretty much summed up Redlands season.
"We take one step forward and then take two back the next quarter," Miller said, believing the key to success was for all players to apply themselves for four quarters.
Miller said Aspley, who were now third on the NEAFL ladder, were a force to be reckoned with and that they were just too good on Saturday afternoon.
"They are team of 23 players that just play for each other, with some absolute superstars as well," he said. "They are definitely a team we look up too at the moment and we want to be able to get up to that level, and I absolutely think we can."
It would be an understatement to say that Miller thinks the Redland Bombers can get up to that level with the 23-year old oozing passion for the red and black.
Miller who has been at the club since he was 13 says it is a dream come true to play senior footy at the club.
"It's is all you could dream of. There is a great culture around the club. We have great coaches, great sponsors and great administrators - you couldn't ask for anything more."
The next step for Miller and the Bombers is to get results, and he believes it starts with everyone buying and committing to the long haul.
Miller believes with Carse at the helm the club is on the right track.
"For Carsey to uproot his whole life and come back to the footy club that he loves, you can see how much this club means to him," he said. "He wants to win, and we want people at this club who are in for the long haul and passionate about this club.
"We need everyone to buy in. That's what we want at the end of the day because we haven't had a lot of success in recent years, that's no secret."
