Seniors Week events - a special guide

There is plenty to see and do in the Redlands during an extended Seniors Week.

Friday, August 16

Event: Pot Luck Darts Doubles

Location: Birkdale Multi Sports Club Bailey Road, Birkdale

Cost: $2

Details: Come and join in the fun including morning tea and Lucky Door Prize. Prizes for winners, runners-up, highest scores and peg-outs. All non-players will be partnered with dart player.

Saturday, August 17

Start: 2pm - 4.30pm

Event: Musical Theatre Show

Location: Donald Simpson Centre, 172 Bloomfield St, Cleveland

Cost: $15

Details: Donald Simpson Theatricals presents its 2019 Show - Favourites.

Start: 7am - 12pm

Event: Seniors Week 10 km Walk

Location: RDCOTA, 57 Wynyard St, Cleveland

Cost: $8

Details: A 10 kilometre walk through back streets and parklands, breakfast supplied at end of walk. You can join in for a 3, 5, 7.5 or 10 kilometre circuit at your pace. Participants receive a T-shirt and gift bag. Phone 3488 0680 or visit RDCOTA office to register.

Event: Senior Citizens Concert

Location: Assembly Hall, 40 Smith St, Cleveland

Cost: Free

Details: Redland City Bands are presenting their annual free concert featuring the Redland City Concert Band and guest band Windsor Brass. A first-class event with an entertaining program of music and refreshments.

Start: 11.30am lunch, 12.15pm tee off

Event: Seniors Golf Day

Location: Carbrook Golf Club, 653 Beenleigh, Redland Bay Rd, Carbrook

Details: Meet your fellow players for hamburger lunch and work out your strategies for the Single Stableford Event. Enjoy 18 leisurely holes of golf in carts. Event: Indoor bowls tournament

Location: Tranquil Waters Retirement Village, 31 Thompson St, Victoria Point

Cost: Free

Details: The Annual Arts show display of paintings with pieces for sale. Parchment Display - parchment craft artworks in frames, novelties such as baskets and lamps, greeting cards for all occasions. Leather Work and Woodwork Exhibition and Matilda's Quilting Group are also on display with sales.
