AN EXTENSIVE search and rescue operation for two fishermen missing in Moreton Bay from August 11 was concluded on Friday.
Police said they had liaised closely with the families of both men.
"Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the men at this very difficult time," police said.
Police would prepare a report for the coroner.

POLICE have appealed for anyone out on Moreton Bay on the weekend to be vigilant and report any items that may be linked to two missing fishermen.
The Brisbane Water Police continue to search for the men, who went missing on Saturday, but the operation has been scaled back.
Brisbane Water Police Senior Sergeant David Edden officer-in-charge said PolAir and Rescue 500 would continue to help as the search entered its sixth day.
"With increased activity expected on the water this weekend, please keep a look out for the missing men and be mindful that search and rescue assets will still be working in the area," Senior Sergeant Edden said.
He said the families of the missing men were very appreciative of the ongoing public support.
The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper spent about five hours searching Moreton Bay on Thursday after being tasked by the Queensland Police.
A spokesperson said the helicopter had performed a zig zag search pattern through the bay, between North Stradroke Island and Brisbane Airport.
"They also searched parts of several islands, including North Stradbroke Island, Mud Island and St Helena Island and scoured some of the coastline," the spokesperson said.
"The rescue crew found no signs of the fishermen and returned to the base just before 2pm."

SEARCH efforts will continue for the two fishermen who went missing on Saturday.
Brisbane Water Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant David Edden said search efforts on Thursday would mainly be in the vicinity of Green, Mud and St Helena islands.
Efforts were being supported by volunteer marine groups and an aircraft.
Senior Sergeant Edden that police and the families of the missing men were very appreciative of the ongoing public support in the search for the men.

POLICE have reminded boaties in Moreton Bay not to hinder search vessels that will continue to search for two fishermen who went missing on Saturday.
Brisbane Water Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant David Edden said a small white bucket was found during Tuesday's search.
Family members had confirmed the bucket belonged to the missing men.
Water Police and volunteer groups, Rescue 500 and Polair would continue the search on Wednesday.
Senior Sergeant Edden reminded boaties in the vicinity of Green, Mud and St Helena islands that searches were ongoing on the Brisbane Ekka show holiday.
"It is important that all recreational vessels be mindful not to hinder the search vessels when out on the water," he said.

AN AIR, sea and land search is continuing for two fishermen missing in Moreton Bay since Saturday.
Brisbane Water Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Dave Edden said the water police and volunteer agencies would continue to search with the support of PolAir and Rescue 500 helicopters.
"A significant search conducted yesterday by PolAir, Rescue 500, Water Police, Volunteer Marine Rescue, Coast Guard, Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and the State Emergency Service failed to locate the men or any further items," Senior Sergeant Edden said.
Their boat, a blue 3.3m aluminium tinnie, was found submerged near Green Island about 5pm on Sunday.
Police were liaising with the men's families to keep them informed of the details of the search and rescue efforts.

POLICE have 20 vessels and two aircraft searching for two fishermen, as well as 14 SES members conducting land searches on Green and St Helena islands.
Inspector Lindsay Kilpatrick said on Monday morning the search and rescue operation had been ramped up and substantial resources were involved.
He said time was a factor with any incident when cold weather and water were involved.
Inspector Kilpatrick said items like lifejackets and fishing equipment had been found with the men's tinnie near Green Island on Sunday.
He said the boat, found by Brisbane Water Police, was mostly submerged, with only a small part of the bow out of the water. There was very little damage to the vessel.
The men, aged 32 and 25, are from Durack and Calamvale.
Inspector Kilpatrick said a general safety warning for boaties was to check the weather and register with the Coast Guard before heading out onto the bay.
EARLIER
A SEARCH is continuing for two fishermen missing in Moreton Bay since Saturday.
The two Brisbane men, aged 32 and 25, were reported overdue and missing to police after contacting family about 10.15pm on Saturday, advising they were returning to shore.
They were on a day's fishing trip.
After an extensive search their boat, a blue 3.3 metre aluminium tinnie, was found submerged near Green Island about 5pm yesterday.
Aerial searches and shore patrols continued overnight.
Brisbane Water Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Dave Edden said weather conditions were easing which should assist with search operations on Monday.
"Today's search will consist of 18 vessels including the Water Police, Coast Guard, Volunteer Marine Rescue and Queensland Yacht Squadron, as well as helicopters from Polair and Rescue 500," Senior Sergeant Edden said.
"Police and SES personnel will also continue searching shore lines."
A spokesperson for the Brisbane based-RACQ LifeFlight Rescue said their helicopter had searched for the men and their tinnie on Sunday from Peel Island in the south, north to the wrecks on Moreton Island and east to North Stradbroke Island's Amity Point.
The rescue helicopter had searched for nearly three hours and was reactivated again in the afternoon.
"It was tasked to search Moreton Bay by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority which has taken control of the operation, which now includes several aviation and marine assets," the spokesperson said.
