This year's RedFest will revisit and revitalise the area's agricultural roots with the return of the gardening, horticulture, art and craft, cookery and culinary contests, exhibits and demonstrations.
There will be demonstrations from celebrity chefs and local producers, along with competition categories for all ages in gardening, craft and cookery.
Festival president Luke Kinman said the committee was excited to announce the return of the Home Grown and Hand Made exhibits to the festival.
"We are also revitalising the concept of the traditional agricultural show a little with demonstrations from celebrity chefs, local producers and culinary artists who will show visitors how to bring out the best in the flavours of our fabulous local produce from edible flowers to bush tucker - with particular focus on our festival hero, the strawberry," he said.
Locals wanting to enter their homegrown fruit, vegetables, flowers, cookery or craft can download an entry form on the RedFest website at redfest.com.au/news/entry/redfest-revisits-and-revitalises-its-agricultural-roots.
On the final afternoon of the festival, September 8, there will be a sale of the exhibited goods offering the community plenty of bargains. Money raised will be distributed to local charities. Mr Kinman said RedFest would also showcase its music and entertainment program as well as children's workshops and shows, strawberry eating competitions, two nights of fireworks, sidshow alley and arts workshops.
The Homegrown and Handmade exhibit is sponsored by the Goleby family, Timbara Mentz Nurseries, Mount Cotton Landscaping, Nuway Landscape Supplies, Victoria Point Mowers, Wellington Point Farm, Colonial Landscaps and Supplies and Redlands Produce.
