A SUNDAY night barbecue took a turn for the worse when a gas bottle caught fire at Thorneside.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews were called to the fire on Hugh Street just after 7pm and quickly put out the blaze.
No one was injured.
It came after a QFES crew attended a car fire in Thornlands on Sunday afternoon.
The crew were called to the blaze on Panorama Drive at Wellington Street at about 3.40pm. It was extinguished just after 4pm.
A QFES spokesperson said the scene had been left in the hands of police.
A police spokesperson said car fires could be difficult to investigate when the vehicles were significantly destroyed.
Just after midnight on Saturday morning, one man was injured after a car hit a fence on Mount Cotton Road in Capalaba.
Paramedics took the man in a stable condition to Redlands Hospital.
